The Outpost: 11 Luxury Spaces and 1 Honeymoon Space accommodate up to 24 guests. The Spaces are all open plan and boast sensational views. Open on three sides, the Spaces have state-of-the-art remote control screens and an eco-friendly cooling system. Furnished with king size beds with mosquito nets, Spaces include an indoor/outdoor shower, large stone bath, a lounge area with an outdoor terrace and day bed. Features also include a mini-bar, Nespresso machine and wireless internet (coming soon).

We only allow children over the age of 10 at The Outpost and Children 10 to 11 years of age pay 50% of the full adult rate if sharing with parents. Children 12 – 18 years of age pay the full adult rate.
Children of all ages are welcomed at Pel’s Post (paying full adult rate). Please note that the rooms at both Pel’s Post and The Outpost are “open-air” with open balconies and that the lodge and swimming pool are both unfenced. Children must be supervised at all times.
A deposit of 25% of the total accommodation charge is required to confirm a provisional reservation and full payment is required 45 days prior to arrival. Tour operators electing to settle a booking with a credit card may be subjected to a surcharge.
Deposit conditions may be wavered for bookings from the trade, tour operator and agents at the Lodge’s discretion. Extras may be settled in camp.

All Bookings over Christmas and New Year’s Eve can only be secured once a 25% non-refundable deposit has been paid. Group Reservations: Should the reservations department require the accommodation that is being held by the group for the same dates, we will request the group to supply us with an immediate 25% non-refundable deposit. A booking of 8 guests or more is classed as a group booking.
Our cancellation policy is as follows:
- 45–30 days – 50% of full amount
- 30–15 days – 75% of full amount
- 14 days or less – 100% of full amount

DIRECTIONS TO LODGE:
Directions via Kruger National Park to The Outpost
From Skukuza drive north to Letaba Camp, and then continue onto Shingwedzi and further towards the Pafuri Gate (the most northern gate of the Kruger National Park).
Once you have crossed the bridge over the Luvuvhu River, in the far north of the park, drive for approximately 18km and look out for The Outpost sign (which is on the right hand side of the road, and built out of stones).
At the sign, turn left and travel on a dirt road for about 4 kms before you reach the camp.
Please take note that although the route is shorter via the Kruger National Park, the speed limit is 50 kms per hour, making the driving time much longer. Skukuza is situated a total of 380 kms from Pafuri.
We suggest departing from Skukuza as early as possible. Have breakfast at Satara and lunch at either Mopani or Shingwedzi Camps, depending on the time. Lunch at The Outpost is generally served between 14h00 and 16h00.

Follow the N1 north towards Messina (Musina).
Just after you have gone through the Baobab Toll Gate, you will find the R525 turnoff to Tshipise and Pufuri.
Take this turnoff to your right and you will eventually pass
Tshipise on your right.
Further along the R525 you will also pass through the Masisi boom (this access boom is approximately 111 km from the R525 turnoff from the N1).
Approximately 35 km further, still on the R525 you will enter through the gate to the Makuya and Kruger National Parks.
From this gate travel another 6.6 km until you see the sign for the Outpost. Turn right at the sign and follow the 4 km dirt road to the camp.

Daily charter flights and road transfers can be organised on request to and from the following airports:
Phalaborwa, Kings Camp, Sabie Sand, Skukuza, Hoedspruit, Manyeleti, Ngala, Ulusaba, Polokwane and Kruger Mpumalanga International.
The 1 000m Pafuri runway is a quick 20 minute transfer to the Lodge.

The Outpost comprises one large main building and twelve stand-alone living spaces set against the side of a hill overlooking the Luvuvhu River, all connected by a half kilometre long walkway made of Zimbabwean teak.
The contemporary design of each Space makes use of concrete and steel with retractable remote controlled screens which may be opened to offer 180-degree views of the river valley below, or closed depending on the weather.

The Outpost offers a variety of places to dine. Breakfast and lunch is served under cover in the dining area in the main building with views of the Luvuvhu River Valley. Lunch may be served as a picnic out on safari, under Baobabs or on the river banks. Dinner is enjoyed either in the enclosed courtyard under the stars or on the deck next to the pool.
Despite its remote location, The Outpost strives to provide excellent cuisine. Our style of food draws from its African surroundings and care is taken to source the best produce.
The large wine cellar, filled with outstanding South African wines, including some amazing Sauvignon Blanc produced by the Lodge owner, is separated from the main dining area by a glass partition.
