Inyati Private Game Reserve is set in 65 000 hectares of unspoiled bushveld within the Sabi Sand Reserve, adjacent to the world-renowned Kruger National Park. The lodge is situated on the banks of the Sand River allowing for fantastic game viewing without leaving the camp. Diversity of species and relaxed big game allows for close-up game viewing and photography.

With no boundary fences between the Sabi Sand and the Kruger National Park, this reserve benefits from the great diversity of wildlife found in one of the richest wilderness areas on the African continent along, with the additional benefits experienced on a private game reserve.

At Inyati the days are designed to thrill you with intimate wildlife encounters and the nights to delight you with the indulgence and romance of the African night. View Africa’s most impressive wildlife on morning and evening game drives in open 4-wheel drive safari vehicles with expert guides and Shangaan trackers. Game drives traverse an area of 10,000 hectares and strict vehicle limits at sightings ensure the exclusivity of your game viewing experience. Off-road driving ensures that you have the best possible view of any exceptional sighting and guides are constantly in touch with each other to keep track of animal movements. Also interpretive guided bush walks are of offer for guests over the age of 16 years.

ACCOMMODATION

Inyati consists of eleven luxury chalets. Each air-conditioned chalet features en-suite bathroom with twin hand basins, separate bath, shower and w.c. The lodge accommodates 22 guests in total.

FACILITIES & ACTIVITIES

Inyati’s superbly positioned guest sitting and dining areas overlook the Sand River. The verandah overlooks the riverine vegetation, which is the natural habitat of the elephant and hippo.Other facilities available - the Warthog hollow bar, swimming pool, air-conditioned gym and walk-in wine cellar.Our traditional Shangaan boma is used on nights, (weather permitting) and is a truly memorable way to experience a safari evening under the African night sky. Enjoy fine cuisine and wines whilst seated around a warm crackling fire.

GAME DRIVES

View Africa’s most impressive wildlife on morning and afternoon/evening game drives in open 4-wheel drive safari vehicles with expert guides and Shangaan trackers.

Game drives traverse an area of 10 000 hectares (24 700 acres) and strict vehicle limits at sighting ensure the exclusivity of your game viewing experience. Off-road driving ensures that you have the best possible view of any exceptional sighting and guides are constantly in touch with each other to keep track of animal movements.

Guests can also enjoy interpretive guided bush walks offering the bird watcher, dendrologist, botanist and the nature enthusiast the ultimate bush experience. There is no finer way to enjoy the essence of the African bush than on foot.

PRIVATE SAFARI VEHICLE

Exclusive use of a safari vehicle can be arranged upon request, but is subject to availability. Only a limited number of exclusive safari vehicles can be guaranteed at any one time.

Bush Braai

Experience a traditional South African braai (barbeque) under a blanket of stars in the heart of the bushveld. The crackling fire, friendly conversation and delicious food add to the excitement of hearing a lions roar in the distance.

Boma

A traditional African setting where unique delicacies are prepared on an open fire. Enjoy the friendly company of your ranger whilst being entertained with bushveld stories and experiences. The rhythmic beat of a traditional African dance will entertain guests while aromas of food being prepared on the open fire fill the night sky.

Dining Area

Meals can be enjoyed on the open patio area overlooking the Sabi River. A combination of traditional South African and International dishes are always on the menu.

Wine Cellar

Inyati has a walk in wine cellar that is stocked with over 2000 bottles of selected wines and champagnes. A variety of some of South Africa’s top wines are available. Select your favourite wine to be enjoyed with your meal.

Ladies Bar

Inyati’s fully licensed ladies bar and lounge, The Warthog Wallow, provides the perfect setting for guests to meet for refreshing drinks in a relaxed environment. Enjoy drinks and snacks while the days exciting happenings are recounted.

Chalets

Quality fabrics and rich earthy tones combine with African decor to create an ambience of spacious luxury. Each of the ten en-suite chalets is air conditioned and has mosquito nets and telephones. From the moment you first arrive in your room you realize that everything possible has been done to make your stay as special and as spectacular as possible.

Executive Chalets

Quality fabrics and rich earthy tones combine with African decor to create an ambience of spacious luxury. Each of the ten en-suite chalets is air conditioned and has mosquito nets and telephones. From the moment you first arrive in your room you realize that everything possible has been done to make your stay as special and as spectacular as possible. Our Executive chalets offer a superior level of luxury and privacy. Each Executive chalet boasts a King Size bed, indoor and outdoor shower as well as a large sunken bath, front and back private patio with lounger chairs as well as a sitting area.

The rates quoted are per person, per night sharing and priced in South African Rands.
They include accommodation as detailed below and 15% VAT.

Children (Aged 8-10)

  • Children aged between 8-10 years and sharing a chalet with two full paying adults, will pay 50% of the per person sharing rate.
  • Children in their own suite will pay the standard adult rates.
  • Children are permitted on game drives at guides’ discretion.
  • Children above 16 may participate in walking safaris – for younger children we offer child-friendly walks around the lodge with experienced guides.
  • Child minding is conducted by lodge staff and can be arranged on arrival at a nominal hourly rate.
  • Occasionally due to restrictions on the number of guests and vehicles allowed on the Sabi Sand Reserve, we may not be able to accommodate extra children in room

Booking Procedure:
To secure your reservation a 50% deposit is required within 48hrs from time of booking.  
Full payment required 30 days prior to arrival.  Supplements and minimum stays may apply. Inyati Game Lodge reserves the right to change tariffs without notice subject to implementation or variations of taxes or levies by any authority or the government.

Cancellation Policy

    • All cancellations will only be accepted in writing and will only be effective on receipt of our cancellation voucher. There may also be cancellation fees 
    • levied by third parties or our affiliates such as flight or transfer operators.
  • Inyati Game Lodge reserves the right to charge the following cancellation fees should a confirmed reservation be cancelled within the following period:
  • 5% cancellation fee if cancelled more than 60 days prior to arrival.
  • 25% cancellation fee if cancelled less than 60 days prior to arrival.
  • 50% cancellation fee if cancelled less than 30 days prior to arrival.
  • 90% cancellation fee if cancelled less than 14 days prior to arrival

ARRIVAL / DEPARTURE

Suggested arrival time is after 12h00 with check-in from 13h00.
Rooms must be vacated by 11h00 for the convenience of arriving guests. Late departure times can be arranged at the lodge, subject to availability of rooms

 HAZYVIEW is the town you should be heading to in order to arrive at Inyati Game Lodge.
Should you be using a navigation system, please ignore all directions after Hazyview.
Please follow OUR directions from there to get to the lodge.

 

  • There are three entry gates into the Sabi Sand Reserve - Shaw's Gate, Newington Gate and Gowrie Gate. Inyati guests can only access via the NEWINGTON GATE.
  • For all visitors, an entrance fee is payable of R 120 per person to enter the Sabi Sand Wildtuin, which is payable at the gate. Self-drive visitors must ALSO pay R 280 per vehicle entrance fee, at the gate.
  • Credit card (Visa & MasterCard) and debit card facilities are now available at Newington gate.
  • Please retain your receipt as proof of entrance and have it stamped at the lodge reception when you are leaving, which acts as your Exit Permit.
  • The Gates open at 05h00 and close at 22h00. Please note that these times are subject to change. The Sabi Sand Reserve is a protected reserve and therefore access is restricted - hence the gate opening and closing times.

DIRECTIONS TO INYATI GAME LODGE FROM HAZYVIEW: (± 66 KM)


1. In Hazyview town - Turn right at the second set of traffic lights on to the R536 - Portia Shabangu Drive towards the Paul Kruger gate.
2. After approximately 34kms on the R536, there are signposts for Newington Gate Sabi Sands Game Reserve on the left hand side of the road. There will also be a green road sign indicating “Huntington Lilydale & Justicia”.
3. Turn left on to the gravel road and drive for 9km until you find the 4 way intersection.
4. Turn right at the 4 way intersection towards Newington Gate Sabi Sands and follow the road for another 3km.
5. Turn left at the next Newington gate sign opposite the Preschool.
6. Keep heading towards Newington gate which is where you will enter the Sabi Sand Reserve.
7. Turn left once you have entered Newington Gate and follow all signposts to Inyati.

RECOMMENDED ROUTE FROM JOHANNESBURG:

* Please note that the drive will take approximately 51⁄2 / 6 hours (± 550km)
1. From Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport take the R21 in the direction of Boksburg / East Rand. Then take the N12 towards eMalahleni (Witbank). This road becomes the N4 toll road to Nelspruit.
2. Follow the N4 highway past Middleburg (Toll Plaza), eMakhazeni (Belfast) & Machadodorp (Toll Plaza). Follow the Schoemanskloof option on the N4 towards Nelspruit / Mbombela.
3. Head east on N4 Nelspruit Northern Bypass. Slight left 270m then turn right toward R37. Go through one roundabout (1.1 km). At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto R37 (800m)
4. Turn left onto Madiba Street 1.9 km and continue onto Provincial P9/2 Rd/R40 continue to follow the R40.
5. Enter White River, along Chief Mgiyeni Khumalo drive, at the traffic light (Express Stores on your right ) turn left onto Theo Kleynhans Street (sign White River Country Estates) green sign - R40 Hazyview /R538 Numbi Gate and continue to follow R40 Hazyview. At the roundabout follow the R40 Phalaborwa
6. Hazyview is about 45km from White River. As you approach Hazyview there is a T-Junction.
7. Turn left at the T-junction following R40 .This road will take you into Hazyview Town.
8. Carry on straight through the first set of traffic lights.
9. In Hazyview - Turn right at the second set of traffic lights on to the R536 - Portia Shabangu Drive towards the Paul Kruger gate

RECOMMENDED ROUTE FROM NELSPRUIT / KRUGER MPUMALANGA AIRPORT: (± 115 KM)

1. Turn right coming out of the airport onto the R538 and follow the signs to White River (Witrivier)
2. Continue for approximately 12 km, until you reach the first set of traffic lights in White River, with the mosque on your left
3. Turn right and travel towards Hazyview on the R40. After approximately 45 km, you will go down a steep hill towards a T-junction
4. Turn left, staying on the R40 which will take you into Hazyview town
5. In Hazyview - Turn right at the second set of traffic lights on to the R536 - Portia Shabangu Drive towards the Paul Kruger gate

RECOMMENDED ROUTE FROM HOEDSPRUIT: (± 165 KM)


1. Follow the R40 Klaserie road towards Hazyview / White River
2. Pass through towns Acornhoek, Casteel and Bushbuckridge to get to Hazyview.
3. In Hazyview - Turn left at the second set of traffic lights on to the R536 - Portia Shabangu Drive towards the Paul Kruger gate

RECOMMENDED ROUTE(S) FROM KRUGER NATIONAL PARK:
Depending on your location in the Kruger National Park, we suggest the following:

ROUTE FROM ORPEN GATE: (± 172 KM)


** You can only access Inyati via the Newington Gate**
1. Follow the R531 from Orpen gate towards the R40.
2. At the T-junction turn left on to the R40 towards Hazyview / White River
3. Pass through towns Acornhoek, Casteel and Bushbuckridge to get to Hazyview.
4. In Hazyview - Turn left at the second set of traffic lights on to the R536 - Portia Shabangu Drive towards the Paul Kruger gate

ROUTE FROM PAUL KRUGER GATE: (± 39 KM)


1. Exit at the Paul Kruger gate
2. Approximately 7km on the R536 there are signposts for Newington Gate Sabi Sands Game Reserve.
3. Turn right on to the gravel road for 9km until you find the 4 way intersection.
4. Turn right at the 4 way intersection towards Newington Gate Sabi Sands and follow the road for another 3km.
5. Turn left at the next Newington gate sign opposite the Preschool.
6. Keep heading towards Newington gate which is where you will enter the Sabi Sand Reserve.
7. Turn left once you have entered Newington Gate and follow all signposts to Inyati.

*Please be aware, as you approach the Lodge that you are in a wilderness area where predators and high- profile game roam freely. Do not leave your car for any reason.

Once you enter the Sabi Sand Wildtuin / Game reserve, please drive carefully and adhere to the following regulations:

  •  Travel directly to your destination and do not deviate from the route. Do not leave the roads. Remain at a respectable distance from wild animals. Remember that all wild animals are dangerous.
  •  Do not exceed the speed limit of 40 km/hour.
  •  Do not feed the animals in the Sabi Sand Reserve.
  •  Do not litter in the reserve
